The Sales Representative will be working closely with PPG’s customer service team, supply chain, lab support, technical service representatives & other internal team members to ensure PPG is successful with providing superior sales and service to our customers.
The key responsibility of a PPG Industrial Coatings Sales Representative is to maintain and grow sales with new and existing customers. The incumbents have primary responsibility for the sales transaction, including negotiating the parameters of the transaction with the customer. Further, the incumbents are responsible for organizing internal resources to ensure successful start-up and ongoing service, including availability of product and technical service on the customers’ lines.
Each Sales Representative must manage his/her territory or accounts in terms of general sales expense, price discipline, minimizing returned goods, and accurate sales forecasts.
In addition to selling our coatings products, the Sales Representative must ensure that usage by customers is in accordance with established specifications in order to minimize the risk of product failure and subsequent liability cost. Further, he/she provides and/or coordinates continuous service to the customer to ensure customer satisfaction. This involves contact with the customer’s technical and production staff and our laboratories and technical service personnel introducing new products or approaching new customers, the incumbent has freedom of action in coordinating information from Marketing, Product Development, and Manufacturing to select a product and an approach for a particular customer.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain existing business and develop new sales at existing accounts where the opportunity is available through development of strong sales position.
- Generate profitable new business through aggressive use of market data, prospecting and orchestration of PPG resources.
- Use the Quality Process in dealing with external customers and internal suppliers of services.
- Maintain technical competence in the Coatings Business, including product technologies, application techniques, and regulatory issues which impact our customers.
- Maintain and promote a positive, professional image of PPG in all interactions and by adherence to the Worldwide Code of Ethics and all safety, Health and Environmental Policies.
- Provide information relating to market trends, business conditions, and competitive activities.
- Continue to grow both personally and professionally by ensuring completion of all individual Development Plan goals.

1- 3 years experience in sales, marketing, or account management
- A business degree (Bachelors) or equivalent experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all customer levels, strong communication skills – in writing, IT
presentations, public speaking and one to one negotiations, self-motivation, clean driving license. - Willingness to travel frequently to customer and PPG locations.
