FACILITY SECURITY OFFICER is responsible for managing all aspects of DoD, Air Force and program security at Huntsville, AL. The FSO manages security procedures, compliance with security procedures and protocols, and administers the facility and personnel clearances associated with the Huntsville facility.  The FSO will work with the Security Manager for USCA to develop and implement security plans for the Huntsville facility.  The FSO will also provide the Export Control Department with administrative support as assigned by the Global Trade Compliance and Security Officer.   

  1. Ensure compliance with DoDM 5220.22-M National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and DoDM 5205.07 DoD Special Access Program (SAP) Security Manual with respect to the following:

    1. Telecom and IT security;
    2. Program and technical data security;
    3. Personnel security (clearances).
  2. Develop and implement local compliance procedures in alignment with NISPOM and DoD SAP regulations and PPG corporate policies and procedures.

  3. Manage all DoD and Program audits and ensure compliance with the NISPOM, DoD SAP and customer requirements.  Ensure all corrective actions are implemented. 

  4. Conduct periodic classified document inventories and security self-inspections on local processes and practices.

  5. Monitor the physical shipment of product based on program requirements.

  6. Report any violations to the appropriate Government agencies.

  7. Specific DoD-related duties:
    1. Supervise and direct security measures necessary for implementing applicable requirements of the NISPOM, DoD SAP Security Manuel, and related federal requirements for classified information. 

    2. Conduct briefings and security training
    3. Perform administrative duties as required, including personnel training and periodic reports required by Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), personnel incident reports, Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), Defense Information System for Security (DISS), National Industrial Security System (NISS), and Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (EQIP) data entry for clearances; manage special US Post Office box for classified materials.

    4. Mark, handle, and store classified information
    5. Work with ISSM to ensure compliance of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.

    6. Handle access requests and authorizations
    7. Coordinate classified visit requests / meetings
    8. Manage Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment / accounts.
    9. Complete security training as specified in the NISPOM and DoD SAP, and as deemed appropriate by the cognizant government agencies.

  8. May perform other security duties as assigned.

  9. Must be United States citizen.

Requires:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in FOS, preferred 5 years and above.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Current Security Clearance required.

  • 5 years of direct experience with NISPOM and DoDM 5207 preferred.

  • 1-2 years Export Control (ITAR and EAR) experience preferred.

  • Prior Military, federal or local law enforcement type job experience a plus.

  • Aerospace / Defense industry experience preferred. 

  • Ability to develop and implement compliance procedures. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills - to communicate effectively with all management levels.

  • Strong communications skills – in writing, IT presentations and public speaking.

  • Strong understanding of DoD security, industrial security, and export compliance issues.

  • Understanding of civilian and military aerospace products preferred.

  • Strong self-motivation.

  • Travel: <15%.
